Air Pump Classification

Air pumps can be categorized into several types based on their pressure profile and structural features. The following describes several of them:

1. Manual Air Pump

A manual air pump does not require an external power source. It compresses and delivers gas through the reciprocating motion of a piston. Manual air pumps are commonly used in gas sampling, pressure calibration, and tire pressure testing.

2. Electric Air Pump

Electric air pumps are driven by an electric motor and typically use a screw or piston to compress and deliver gas to the desired location. They are commonly used in automobile tire inflation, industrial gas delivery, and diving oxygen supply.

3. Pneumatic Diaphragm Pump

Pneumatic diaphragm pumps are suitable for conveying a variety of corrosive, abrasive, high-viscosity, and high-purity fluids. They primarily operate by driving gas to move the piston forward, which in turn causes the piston to directly discharge gas in the opposite direction. Pneumatic diaphragm pumps are widely used in the chemical, paper, ceramic, and food industries.

4. Screw Air Pump

Screw air pumps are simple to operate in terms of both volumetric capacity and compression. Screw air pumps are usually driven by a rotor with two staggered helical teeth, and controlled by the inner and outer upper and lower parts to complete the delivery of compressed gas. Screw air pumps are widely used in petroleum, chemical, rubber, papermaking, pharmaceutical and other industries.
